"Goldfinger," released in 1964, is the third installment in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions, starring Sean Connery as MI6 agent James Bond. Based on Ian Fleming's 1959 novel of the same name, the film also features Honor Blackman, Gert Fröbe, and Shirley Eaton. Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman produced the film, marking the first of four Bond films directed by Guy Hamilton.

In the movie, Bond investigates gold smuggling orchestrated by the wealthy magnate Auric Goldfinger, uncovering his grand scheme to contaminate the United States Bullion Depository at Fort Knox. "Goldfinger" was a breakthrough hit for the Bond franchise, boasting a budget equivalent to the combined costs of its two predecessors. Principal photography spanned from January to July 1964 across the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the United States.

Regarded as the film where James Bond truly solidified as a cinematic icon, "Goldfinger" introduced numerous elements that became staples of the series. These include Bond's use of sophisticated technology and gadgets, a standalone and action-packed pre-credits sequence, multiple global settings, and a playful sense of humor.
