Celebrate their 75th Anniversary

Here we have famous CHARLIE BROWN and the very famous SNOOPY. This set celebrates the 75th Aniversary and would make a lovely collectors Limited Edition piece for a Snoopy and/or Steiff Collector.

Steiff CHARLIE BROWN is 21cm and CHARLIE SNOOPY is 15cm.
CHARLIE BROWN is 3-way jointed - you can move his arms and head.

CHARLIE BROWN is made from velvet and his mouth, eyes and hair are embroidered.
Just look at his little ears and famous nose!
He is wearing black shorts, yellow socks and a yellow polo shirt with zigzag print.

SNOOPY is made of smart white mohair.
His eyes and mouth are embroidered and he has long black ears which are made to match his sweet little black nose. He is wearing a red faux leather collar band.

Snoopy is a beloved anthropomorphic beagle featured in Charles M. Schulz's comic strip Peanuts. Since his debut on October 4, 1950, Snoopy has become an iconic character globally, often more recognized than Charlie Brown in certain countries. Schulz drew inspiration for Snoopy from his own childhood dog, Spike.

Known for his vivid imagination, Snoopy assumes various fantasy roles such as a writer, "Joe Cool" the college student, and notably, a World War I flying ace complete with aviator gear and a Sopwith Camel fighter plane. Despite his occasional selfishness and laziness, Snoopy displays unwavering loyalty and affection towards his owner, Charlie Brown, whom he affectionately refers to as "the round-headed kid."

In his imaginative pursuits, Snoopy often daydreams about grand achievements that end in humorous failure, particularly in his recurring battles against his fictional nemesis, the Red Baron. Schulz described Snoopy's fantasy life as a retreat from an otherwise mundane existence, reflecting a deep empathy for the character.

While Snoopy is portrayed as silent in the animated adaptations of Peanuts, his rich inner world is conveyed through expressive sounds and gestures rather than verbal dialogue. His doghouse, another hallmark of the character, defies logic by appearing larger inside than its exterior dimensions suggest.

Overall, Snoopy's charm lies in his multifaceted personality, imaginative spirit, and enduring bond with Charlie Brown, making him a beloved figure in comic strip history.

Snoopy, despite his complex loyalties and occasional disrespect towards Charlie Brown, has consistently demonstrated affection and devotion to his owner. Charlie Brown often grumbles about Snoopy's whimsical behavior, lamenting, "Why can't I have a normal dog like everyone else?" Nevertheless, Snoopy stands by Charlie Brown in crucial moments, such as walking out of a game of Ha-Ha Herman when Peppermint Patty insults Charlie Brown unknowingly. Additionally, Snoopy assists Charlie Brown in retrieving his autographed baseball from a bully who challenges him to a fight.

Initially, in early Peanuts comic strips, Snoopy's ownership was ambiguous, with suggestions that he belonged to Patty or Shermy. It wasn't until November 1955 that Charlie Brown was established as Snoopy's responsible owner, and by September 1958, it was explicitly stated that Snoopy was Charlie Brown's dog. Despite their ups and downs, Snoopy remains loyal to Charlie Brown, as depicted in The Peanuts Movie, where he supports and cares for him throughout the storyline.

In Snoopy, Come Home and other specials, it's revealed that Charlie Brown acquired Snoopy to cheer himself up after being bullied. His parents took him to the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm, where they met and adopted Snoopy, a moment also depicted in Snoopy's Reunion.
