Richard Steiff ( Margareta Steiff's nephew) was always challenging his designers to come up with new innovations - fresh faces, newer styles, more contemporary ideas. This philosophy continues today at Steiff, where the artists are constantly striving to bring collectors something exciting and different. Sam is a perfect example of this kind of bear. He is made from golden mohair with a black backing and you can see this clearly when you look at his closely cropped face and ears where the black background shows through perfectly. All this expert work is done by hand. He is very softly stuffed, with pellets in his feet, paws, and body so you can sit him in many different ways together with felt paw pads and large black eyes which have also been handairbrushed. Limited edition of just 2,010 pieces worldwide.
