Steiff 135 year Jubilee Teddy Bear has been designed to celebrate the year of 1880 when Margarete Steiff began her dress-making business in Giengen, Germany. This is when Margarete (the founder of Steiff) made her first pin cushion of an elephant with a colourful saddle. The children of Giengen loved the elephant to play with - and this is how the world's first soft toy began. So to celebrate the first soft toy, Steiff have designed this Jubilee teddy bear which is made from the finest golden blond mohair. He is fully jointed and has paw pads made from the finest felt and on his left paw pad Steiff have embroidered '135 Jahren' (135 Years). He is fully jointed and has brown eyes with matching brown hand embroidered mouth and nose finished off with a golden coloured satin bow around his neck. The elephant on his right arm is made from the finest white felt with yellow and blue saddle and base. Steiff have made a limited edition of just 1,880 pieces worldwide.
